Serena. I woke up a few nights ago to find Serena in my living room with my roommate. She apologized for being so loud and proceeded to tell me to go to bed in a New Zealand accent. She is just the neatest, most upbeat person. I think she is rather spunky and an extremely tolerant and patient person. She likes to bust a move and wear running shoes when she is not running (although she does like to run).
Brittney. Brittney is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We go waaay back. Brittney loves horror movies (loves them), crunching numbers and owns way too many clothes. She and I were gym buddies for awhile and golfed together in ridiculous outfits that one time. She’s a pretty sassy lady and I want to go to Wonderland with her to ride roller coasters. She is absolutely fearless.
Anne (left). Anne is standing beside Craig. Anne, a.k.a. Mrs. Werden, is Alex’s mother. This drawing is based off a photo of Alex’s parents on their first date at the Exhibition. Anne is a teacher and she speaks several different languages. She enjoys Victorian literature. She is a fantastic cook and likes to watch (and fall asleep to) movies when she gets home from work.
Anna. I don’t know Anna overly well but I like her nevertheless. She makes me laugh and for someone so classically pretty I find her incredibly funny and silly. She is a positively charismatic person. I’m almost certain that she likes R. Kelly. I mean, I like “I Believe I Can Fly” as much as the next sane person (Space Jam 4 life!), but I can’t say I like R. Kelly very much. Hopefully I will be able to get to know Anna better once I stop working with Anna.

Everyone likes Kenton. EVERYONE. He leaves his skateboard everywhere yet no one steals it because, once again, everyone likes Kenton. Kenton is a really relaxed and easy-to-be-around person with a calming presence. He also draws a mean Homestarrunner.
Sue. A.K.A. My mom. My mom likes to knit and crochet. She has a pinterest that she updates pretty regularly with her crafts. She thinks I drink too much diet soda (I don’t think I drink enough). She loves to be out in her garden and takes pictures of flowers like they’re going out of business (that doesn’t even make sense). My mom would love a family photo of my brothers and I. Ha Ha! Good luck on that front mom! Happy early mother’s day.
Victoria. Jeez, she was difficult to draw (so I drew her twice). Anywho… I met Victoria in high school and we kept in touch while we went to University (she went to McMaster). She is always a delight to hang out with and has loads of energy. She loves the outdoors. If you were to look for Victoria you’d probably find her on the beach, water-skiing or dancing (She is a great tap-dancer. I went to her dance recital many years ago). I remember that Victoria adored Jennifer Aniston in high school. I wander if she still likes her.
Jocelyn. I used to work with Jocelyn. She is a constantly smiling and delightfully charming individual. She seems to be a ray of light (do you remember Madonna’s ‘98 Ray of Light? So good. I digress). She is a charismatic person that draws people near her. You can’t help but want to be friends with her. She is also a talented photographer. Rebecca. This is my younger cousin Rebecca. She lives on P.E.I. with the majority of my extended family. She just graduated and is working as a nurse. Oh, and she is semi-recently engaged (belated congratulations). She probably knows more about fishing than anyone else I know (you know) her age. I can’t believe how adult she is. I need to visit the island soon to say hello.
Vivian. I live with Vivian. I drew Vivian while Vivian was in the other room (because if I can’t be creepy like that than I don’t want to be at all). Vivian is a giant nerd. Vivian makes too much soup and is very neat. She is respectful and funny and kind of strange. She is probably going to ride her bike today. How predictable.
I want to remember everyone
I have over 400 Facebook friends. I do not have over 400 friends in real-life.
Here is the breakdown of Facebook friends:
1. I am good friends with approximately 15 people on Facebook. I see these people fairly often/know them very well
2. I am casual friends with about 20 people on Facebook. I see these people on occasion and am comfortable talking to them.
3. I am related to 20 people on Facebook. I come from a big family and I have a lot of cousins.
4. I am an acquaintance of roughly 50 people on Facebook. These are people I went to high school or university with or met through a friend, but don’t talk to very often.
5. I have one person on Facebook that I have never met in person.
6. There are 300 people I have on Facebook that I don’t know very well.
My friend Gint told me that October is blog month and, like a fool, I believed him. He said that for blog month one is supposed to blog at least once a day, every day for the month of October. I am starting this blog based on a lie, but I look forward to blogging every day this month. A month is a long time, but a year is longer. I have decided that instead of blogging every day for a month I am going to blog every day for a year.
I intend on drawing 365 portraits over 365 days. I am drawing people I have on Facebook. I hope to get to know these people better through portraiture.
